Well - I did it.
A few weeks ago I told you I’d signed up for an improv class.
After my business coach suggested it would be a great way to improve my public speaking and ability to teach and sell on stage.
Every fibre of my body hated the idea - I won’t lie!
BUT…I did it and…
…it was great!
Honestly if you’ve ever thought about taking an improv class (for whatever reason!) just go ahead and do it.
In the pub afterwards (what? We are British come on…!) everyone there mentioned they had been nervous beforehand. But within 10 minutes all that evaporated and everyone was having a great time.
Looking forward to the next few months of classes - and to see how it affects my speaking, presenting, teaching and selling. Interesting experiment!

Why am I talking about improv again?
Well, remember I’m taking a barbell investment approach to AI.
Going all in on pure AI and all in on pure human.
No middle sliders! No mediocre mids.
My bet is that AI will eat into the automatable, non-empathic, non face to face. Meaning that investing time and effort in these skills is non-optimal. Instead use AI here, don’t fight it.
Then use the extra time and energy freed up to learn and perform better in the pure human spheres: communication, empathy, public speaking, comedy, art. Whatever takes your fancy. The fun stuff!!
