Hey Prompt Entrepreneur,
Weāre a third of the way through the year already. Itās a good time to look at how you are doing on your goals.
My big one this year is ābeing knownā.
Not celebrity per se - gross, eww. But being known within a certain industry. And being able to leverage being known for my business.
In early 2023 I wound down my digital marketing agency in order to focus fully on AI entrepreneurship.
Prior to this Iād spent 15+ years skulking in the shadows. Iād be a marketing consultant managing millions in advertising budget. Advising and doing the backend work for big names.
I was always ābehind the cameraā - building, implementing, advising, strategising.
I was never āin front of the cameraā. In the limelight as the focus of attention.
Mainly because Iām an introverted, chubby Brit who canāt say his Rs properly!
Who also had imposter syndrome and a general lack of confidence. If you asked my family and friends theyād even confirm that Iām never in photos - I hide when a camera comes out!
But I knew that to fully control my future I had to come out from backstage.
Over the last 9 months Iāve built an audience of:
60,000+ Tiktok followers
15,000+ Twitter followers
13,000+ LinkedIn connections
50,000+ subscribers
It all adds up to an audience size of 150,000+ people.
Reading, watching, consuming my content.
Itās honestly pretty wild.
Now these are in no way BIG numbers. They arenāt the millions that influencers or celebrities deal in. Nowhere near.
Instead itās 150,000+ people who I know are interested in learning about AI entrepreneurship.
And this 150,000+ drives my business via product sales, coaching, workshops and more. Itās allowed me to travel to Geneva and Amsterdam in the last few months to teach and get 2 invites to go and talk in Vegas.
This is the power of being known and having an audience. Not for vanity. But for driving your business and opening doors.
On top of this the content itself drives revenue.
I had a post kick off this week on Tiktok that yesterday directly paid me Ā£125/$156 and is still (very much!) growing - probably $500-1000 on revenue from that one video.
Do that consistently and that is literally a salary. Mad.
For context that video is 1 minute long. And took me 10 minutes to film, edit and publish. I say this not to brag but to underline how powerful having an audience is.
Itās a 1-2 punch of being the engine that drives your business and get direct payment for the content itself. And it all builds together.
Why am I telling you all this. Well, Iām excited about it! In 9 months me, an introvert who canāt pronounce his Rs properly has built this audience foundation for a business.
