Just flew from Vietnam to Singapore today - aaaand totally lost track of time. Hence this issue coming out so late. Apologies!

I’ve not been in Singapore for 10+ years and I remembered today why I love it so much. Very jealous of those of you who live here.

This week I’ve been doing a lot more “vibe-coding” (still don’t love the term ha!) with Cursor and Bolt. Actually putting together something very cool for all you readers.

If you haven’t tried vibe coding yet I’d recommend now as an amazing time to hop in. Cursor has just released it’s 0.50 version. And Gemini 2.5 (yes, I know, a Google model!) is absolutely killing it when it comes to vibe coding.

If none of this means anything to you:

  • vibe coding is the practice of explaining to an AI what software you want to build and letting it get on with the job for you

  • Cursor is a piece of software that helps you vibe code - it’s where you type the instructions

  • Gemini is the model that Cursor uses (in the backend) to get the work done. Cursor can use any model (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Llama etc.) but right now Gemini 2.5 is simply amazing.

This new combination of the new Cursor release and Gemini 2.5 has made vibe coding so much smoother than it has been for the last 6 months or so.

Less frustrating errors and dead ends. Less bug loops. Instead just an AI that gets it and does the work.

Been genuinely eye opening. Which doesn’t happen that much in the world of AI for me! I’m bitter and cynical apparently! 😋 

So! If you’ve been afraid to give this whole vibe coding thing a try I’d say that now is really a great time to finally spend a couple of hours sussing it out. Either Cursor+Gemini if you are a little familiar with tech or Bolt (also our sponsor today) if you want a gentler learning curve.
