Hey Prompt Entrepreneur,

This week has been one of anxiety.

We’re launching Cohort 2 of the AI Workshop Kit right now and launches like this always lead to anxiety.

Will people sign up? Will they buy? Will we hit targets?

All of these are surface level anxieties and perfectly understandable.

Underneath that though is the anxiety of whether what I’ve built is good enough.

And underlying this is of course a judgement on myself: can I build something good?

This comes with a whole bunch of negative self-talk. Oh, they’ll hate it. And therefore me. Because I’m useless and can’t produce anything worthwhile.

Here’s the thing. I know logically that this is all rubbish.

Cohort 1 has been great. Some highlights:

• the launch sold really well - 6 figure launch, well above expectations

• the students we have in are top calibre, amazing individuals who love what we’ve built for them (and tell us this!)

• students have already begun to deliver paid workshops, within weeks of starting

We also overdelivered on the initial offer massively:

• providing not one workshop for them to teach but instead 5

• instead of 4 live sessions they’ll receive lifetime lives as the cohorts roll forward

• I added in mini-consults where I take problems and record a 1:1 personalised video for students

• we’ve run outreach for students to secure pro-bono practice workshops with charities and non-profits

• and much more

By all accounts it’s been a huge success! We did well from the launch and students are very happy and (most importantly) out there immediately making money!

Yet I feel anxiety about Cohort 2!

Even though for Cohort 2 we have:

• over 500 applicants

• a track record of success from cohort 1

• similarly professional and top-of-their-game applicants as before (like…real heavy hitters!)

Here’s the thing though. This is natural. When you build your own products and services you put so much of yourself into it that it’s understandable that you begin to over-identify.

If this fails then I’m a failure.

We tie our ego into what we build.

If you’ve ever launched a product you’ll know this feeling.

And more importantly - if you’ve never launched a product this could be part of the reason why!

I know so many people who build something great to 90% but never get it out into the world.

Why? The anxiety of it failing and what that means about them.

Exactly what I’m feeling this week during our launch.

This feeling doesn’t go away. Sorry!

But you will get better at just living through it!

And those expectations rise - I’d feel anxious about a launch that could potentially lead to $500 of sales. And now I feel that anxiety about $100,000+ launches. It’s growth. And at least the reward at the end of the process is bigger! 🤣
