This year, I tried a little experiment. Instead of sharing one lead magnet every now and then, I committed to sharing one every single day. Different topics, different angles, but all solving specific problems.
The results? Sure, some flopped. Actually: most of them!
But the winners? They bring in hundreds of leads each time I shared them. Consistently.
We would never have been able to work this out without the high volume approach.
More importantly, I learned exactly what my audience wanted - because they told me with their actions, not their words.

The Volume Philosophy
We do NOT know which lead magnets will resonate.
Even with all the research in the world, your audience will surprise you.
We don’t really know anything until our audience tells us with their actions.
That's why we run multiple lead magnets simultaneously. It's not about finding one perfect magnet - it's about having several good ones running in parallel, learning from each, and doubling down on what works.
The whole philosophy here is i) lots of ideas ii) lots of lead magnets created iii) lots of magnets in rotation on social media.
Setting Up Your Systems
First, you need a delivery system. I use Gumroad for this - it's simple and free to start. You can set your price to $0, collect emails easily, and even add upsells if you want. It also shows you conversion rates and integrates with pretty much everything else you'll need.
I won’t go into the technical details here as it could be a whole Playbook! An alternative to Gumroad is using an eCommerce platform but that’s going to be more work.
The basic idea with whatever delivery system you use is to:
Show your audience members a post on social media.
They perform an action to get a link - generally this action is following and commenting some keyword on your post. This helps that post get more reach because the platform sees it is popular
Everyone who comments gets sent an automatic DM with the link to the lead magnet
The link goes to Gumroad and allows them to receive the lead magnet
Gumroad sends their email on to your email system (ie. beehiiv)
We can use this same backend system for any social media channel. It makes everything a lot easier having one distribution mechanism. The key is they are just sent a link on whatever social media platform they ask for the lead magnet on.
Notice what’s happening here- you are getting expanded reach because people comment on your post, you are getting more followers on social media because they have to follow, you are getting email addresses in Gumroad/beehiiv and (finally) if you have an up-sale on Gumroad you may be generating revenue. It’s a powerful engine.
Distribution Platforms
We can (and should) deploy our lead magnets on as many platforms as possible. Start with the platform you are already large on - this will see you get momentum faster.
Here’s a run down:
Instagram - use ManyChats to run your giveaways
TikTok - ManyChats has just launched TikTok connection but only in the US
Twitter/X - you can use Typefully, Hypefury or Tweethunter. I use Typefully.
LinkedIn - you have to run DM giveaways manually (or have a VA send the links)
Each is slightly different to implement but all have the same basic mechanisms.
Quality Filters That Work
Here’s one thing you need to be careful of.
Getting hundreds of leads a day is great obviously. And we know they are leads that have the problems highlighted in our lead magnets. Nice.
BUT. And this is a big but: they are also people who entered our eco-system for something free.
Now, not all of them will be freebie-seekers who will never buy from us. In fact a sizeable portion of the people reading this right now came into the ecosystem via a lead magnet!
But some will be. And they are not your customer. For this reason we need filters in place.
I use my newsletter as the first filter - it helps separate the freebie seekers from people who actually want to engage. Even if someone comes in as a freebie-seeker they are in my newsletter and will continue to i) have value delivered to them with ii) occasional sales. If they don’t open I just purge them from the list eventually.
Second, adding a small upsell ($7-27 range) right after download is another great filter. It's not about making money at this stage - it's about finding the people who are serious about solving their problems. If someone immediately upgrades you know they are action takers rather than tyre kickers. You can tag them in your email software and deliver extra content and sales to them later.
Your First Month of Distribution
There are a lot of moving pieces here so let’s break it down into manageable chunks.
Week 1: Set up your basic systems. Get comfortable with one platform. Pick your primary platform and schedule your first week of shares.
Week 2: Start sharing consistently. Start with three different lead magnets and track their performance. Remember - consistency beats perfection. Track your numbers.
Week 3: Add a second platform if you're ready. Keep it manageable and sustainable first and foremost.
Week 4: Review what's working and double down. Scrap what doesn’t work. Scrap lead magnets that haven’t popped off. Add more into rotation. Repeat.
In the next Part we'll finish off the process and look at how to take your best-performing lead magnets and turn them into proper products. But for now, focus on getting your distribution engine running.
